in Atwater and throughout Merced County
BMX
FREE RIDE NIGHTS - Veteran's Park - Starting
April 5th - 5:30pm-7:30pm
 |
Starting
in April 2012 the Atwater PAL BMX program will
start up again. The location is the BMX track
at Veteran’s Park. This is open to youth
(Girls and Boys) ages 5-17 years old. Bicycles
and helmets provided. Long sleeve shirts and pants
must been worn. Signups will be at the track. |
JUNIOR
GIANTS
 |
signups
will be in May 2012 for this year’s summer
baseball program. Games are played at Osborn Park
Monday through Thursday. Times vary depending
on what division the youth is assigned. There
is a educational component included in the program.
This is open to youth 4 ½ -18 years old
(Girls and Boys).Hats and shirts are provided.
Gloves are also issued if a player does not have
one. This is a NON- competitive league. |
POLICE
CADETS
 |
This
is a year round program. Cadets meet at the Merced
County Animal Shelter classroom every Monday from
5:30pm-8:30pm. This is open to youth (Girls and
Boys) 12-18 years old. Uniforms are provided. |
ATWATER
TEEN ADVISORY COUNCIL
 |
This
is also a year round program. Meetings are held
at the Atwater Community Center. ATAC meets
on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from
6:30pm-7:30pm. This is open to youth 12-17 years
old (Girls and Boys). ATAC shirts are provided.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
 |
This
program runs during the school year. The program
is located at the Castle Youth Center in Veteran’s
Park. The hours are 3:00pm-6:30pm and open to
youth from kindergarten to sixth grade. Students
that attended Elmer Wood and Thomas Olaeta sign
up at their school. Others may sign up at the
center.

BOXING
 |
Atwater
PAL is partnered with the Merced County SAL
to bring you this program. Boys and Girls 8
years old to 18 years old. Hours are 3:00pm-6:00pm
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. Location
is at 2100 Academy Drive located by the Head
Start Program on the old base. Duration of the
program is year round. A physical examination
must be completed before youth can start the
program. There are three levels; novice, intermediate
and tournament. Each session is one hour long.
There are four sessions each day, 3pm-4pm,4pm-5pm,5pm-6pm
and 6pm-7pm.
